Advocates for Educational Freedom in Colorado

What is Education Freedom?
Education Freedom is about having the financial resources to select schooling options other than only government-run public schools.
How does it work?
It is a completely voluntary program whereby Parents apply to the State to be part of the program and receive funding from the State for the education of one’s children.
Are there any costs to parents?
Every family pays taxes to the State, the State now funds only Public Schools from those taxes. Under the Education Freedom program, all K-12 children will become eligible to receive funding, payable to their parents. No additional taxes will be needed to fund the new program.
Who benefits from it?
All K-12 students would become eligible.

There are 4 ways how Coloradans will benefit from Educational Freedom

1) Liberty
First, regaining the Parental Right to educate their own children, that Liberty now is forfeited to government-run public schools upon enrollment, the public school then assumes the authority to educate the children in their schools.
Secondly, Colorado’s Public Education system is over-reaching their “compelling state interest” rights in education. Liberty excludes any general power of the State to standardize the education of children beyond the basic tools of literacy necessary to survive in modern society, leaving further education decisions in the hands of parents.
2) Equality
Only students who attend a public school receives State funding acquired through taxes. Parents who pay taxes ought to also get State funding for their children’s education.
3) Children will benefit
Age appropriate education that upholds their innocence, schooling that promotes curiosity, creativity, and a desire to learn, education that fits their needs. Education Freedom will enable children to escape being indoctrinated by special interest agendas, along with those values and beliefs.
4) Opportunity
Education Freedom enables families to choose the learning environment that fits their children’s needs best, offering alternatives to underperforming neighborhood public schools, breaking the link between housing and access to quality education with the goal of expanding educational opportunity to all children, especially the most disadvantaged.
